Sheppard connects environmental concerns with collective questions. Merging terrestrial, celestial, and mythological viewpoints through a multidisciplinary approach of painting, sculpture and installation. The work hovers on the threshold of abstraction and representation, using a dreamlike logic, that incorporates familiar and suggestive elements. Engaging with surrealist methods to reveal interior and exterior worlds and fragments, that oscillate between large and small scale, transitioning between form and gesture, as though in a state of flux or transformation.

Layering processes and the consciousness of sourcing materials such as linen, paint and metal, create a tension between recognition and perceptual experience. Overlaps and loose associations generated by the contrasting materials and processes lead to an extensity that can be read as a collection of ecological interests. Mysterious conflations arise, evoking history and ancient technologies, contemporary and ancient ecologies.

Since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts in 2021 with an MA Degree in fine art Sheppard's work has been selected for exhibitions across the UK and features in private collections.
